ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet said that they are going to oppose any kind of deal for the Greece debt problem if it involves loss for the nation's lenders. With this he has also made clear for the world that this problem will be having no simple solution.
He was giving his views during a news conference that was done after news flashed talking about the worse terms that is going to cause loss for the bondholders and is sure to send ripples across the global economy.
The conference and the comments were made after the German FM argued last week saying that the creditors, whom Greece is unable to pay just now, will have to bear the burden of the losses and they should expect that the government alone would bear all the losses and the burden of the bailout.
He also said that ECB is going to have a 'strong vigilance' for inflation and can be taken as a sign that the bank would be going for a interest-rate hike for the second time in this year. If the happens then they would be standing at logger heads with US Fed Reserve.
